Insurance for Vessels under Construction
While the regular war risk insurance cover applies to waterborne vessels, DNK also offers special conditions for vessels under construction.
The DNK special cover for newbuildings based on Chapter 19 of the Nordic Marine Insurance Plan is divided into pre- and post-launch cover, i.e. for construction on land and in water. For both phases, special rates apply, depending on the country the construction yard is located.
Once the vessel is delivered and enters into normal trade, the standard war risk insurance cover for waterborne vessels applies.
